Portion Control Containers – Do They Really Work?

Portion Control Containers - Do They Really Work-

Portion control containers seem to be a popular way for dieting these days, especially as part of the 21-Day Fix System. I always wondered how little containers in different colors could really make a difference when it comes to diet and weight loss. Thankfully, I was given the access to these containers, so I could try them out.

Haven’t heard about this type of diet system? Here is an explanation of how it is supposed to work:

Sounds pretty cool, doesn’t it?

As with all diet and exercise programs, it depends on how much you are willing to invest – are you spending the time to meal-prep, are you sticking with the instructions, are you allowing yourself to cheat – all these will determine your level of success.

Because this system is so very popular at the moment, it created two phenomena in its wake:

  1. There are many YouTubers who have created meal plans and food prep videos for this program.
  2. There are knock-offs.

The first aspect is really cool, I think. I love watching these creative people taking this system to a whole new level and making it easier for those of us who do not have time to dig for recipes and come up with more meal plans.

As for the second – I received one of these knock-offs to try out.

Portion Control ContainersThe portion control system that I received is by “Fit Strong And Healthy”, and comes with the same colored portion control containers, a downloadable copy of their guide, a tally sheet, and a meal planner, and a protein shaker bottle.

The containers are high quality and close really well, so there is no spillage. The shaker, on the other hand, is a generic, cheap shaker bottle. It does not leak as of yet, but I don’t think it will last as long as the containers do. The guides that come with the program are not of the same quality than the original program, with very basic information, and without the sturdy and thorough instruction booklet that the original system comes with (as you can see in the video above). It is a lot cheaper, though, but because of the lack in quality of the material it came with, I would have felt lost, without my prior knowledge of the original system.

So my conclusion is:

If you are new to this system, buy the original program. If you are looking to add another set of containers to your kit, then purchasing this kit from “Fit, Strong And Healthy” is fine, and will save you money. And as an additional bonus, Amazon has it currently at a 51 % discount, which is a very good deal in my book.
